I posted here that I had I've been having tests done at the cardiologist and neurologist. So far, I've had two ekg's, an echocardiogram, an exercise stress test, a 24 hour holter monitor, a brain MRI, a brain MRA, a VNG, BAER test and an EEG. I'm scheduled for a tilt table test and an EMG for the first week of March. The EP specialist at the cardiology center seems to think it's vasovagal syncope. The symptoms of postural orthostatic tachycardia syndrome also match what I've been experiencing. I'm hoping I'll have an answer to all of this very soon! I am exhausted, and I'm starting to get stressed about not knowing what's going on with my health. I'm getting married exactly 6 months from yesterday, so I want this under control as soon as possible so I can enjoy our 8 day cruise celebration!

Hey there,
I'm sorry, I haven't been keeping up on what you've posted previously on this subject.. I can only assume you are experiencing unexplained syncope..?? I just wanted to let you know that you are not alone. When I was 18 I started having "episodes" quite frequently. After getting told by both a cardiologist and a neurologist that "I was young, and nothing was wrong with me" I found a team of cardiologists in Beverly Hills. Test after test revealed that nothing was wrong.. Except for the fact that I'd randomly hit the floor.. I ended up having an internal heart monitor implanted, which after 2 years, revealed nothing. I also had an EP (electro physiology) study done, as well as a cardiac ablation. I was told that this fixed the problem, yet I continued having episodes (although much more infrequently) after the surgery.
Here I am a couple years later, and I think it is all finally behind me. I haven't had any type of episode in about a year!
My point in telling you this, was that you aren't alone! I completely understand how frustrating and frightening it can be to know that something is wrong, and not know what it is! Please consider yourself lucky, because you seem to have a great set of Dr's who are willing to help you figure this out. I had to fight, appt after appt to even get someone to listen to me. (Do people really make things like this up? lol)
Hang in there, and if you need to talk or vent, just let me know!

Hi Missa, I didn't catch what your symptoms are, but I've had a few episodes the last one feeling like I had a heart attack with heaviness in the chest, rapid pulse, sweating and unable to catch my breath. After wearing the monitor for a month, ekg's, ecg's and cat scan....nothing. I did have other symptoms like a horrible back ache that lasted 2 years. I finally went to a Rhuematologist who found Lyme disease which can affect your heart and Mono and Fibromyalgia. Just a thought. I wouldn't even bring it up to your cardiologist though as they think lyme is hard to catch and easy to treat and as this is my second time of having it and I live in the North East where it is quite prevelent I knew to go to a Lyme literate doctor who knows that it's just the opposite. Easy to get, hard to diagnose and treat. What ever you have, I hope you find out soon so you can get better. If you have any thoughts along those lines you can contact me directly.
Trish
Missa, I just read that you live in NJ....big red flag. So do I and Lyme is the worst in this state, and your only 28. You shouldn't be having heart problems at your age. Contact me if you want.
Thank you Trish and Lori!
I had a tilt table test done on Monday, and it was positive. My EP diagnosed me with vasovagal syncope, put me on Toprol XL (beta blocker) and told me to eat more salt and stay hydrated. I have to go back to her in a month.
